A loop to discover the new Batterie - Semaforo Nuovo trail

Access

From Recco, you drive up to Ruta, where you turn for Portofino Vetta and the former Hotel Klum (deviation not very evident) to a fairly large car park at 420 m.

Description

You ascend and then lose altitude to the right to San Rocco on the Fie path. The village (245 m) is reached in 50'. Here turn left for Mortola (230 m) and Batterie. In 45' x Batterie, from where you turn right downhill to the ruins of various war artefacts. Now there are padlocks and you have to go with the park authority, but the whole thing is a bit abandoned, with lots of grass that bothers the passage.... If you want to explore the area at your leisure, it takes 1h. We then take the new path from Batterie up to Semaforo Nuovo. The beautiful viewpoint, with many new benches, is reached in about 30' (434 m). After the break, we head for Sella Toca and the Paradiso locality (522 m). Afterwards, we continue on to Sella Gaixella, where we close the loop and return to the car in just under 1h. All in all: excellent weather,
