Mount Ramaceto, from Ventarola
Access
In the morning, after taking the motorway exit at Lavagna, it is a must to fill up with petrol, at the petrol station attached to the Ipercoop shopping centre, at competitive prices. Afterwards, we head up the Val d'Aveto, taking great care (and therefore at a slower speed) because of the many cyclists who clutter up the narrow roadway. At Parazzuolo, turn left for Ventarola and, after a couple of kilometres, the small village appears where you can park (not many parking spaces, about 35 km from the toll station).
Introduction
After more than two months of stop, finally a new survey for future outings... Several variants were possible, but we ended up doing the full circuit. It certainly wasn't the easiest outing to start again, but varied, beautiful and with many different interests, so it was the right one.
Description
At the start, from the village of Ventarola (845 m), the track is almost level, then, at a couple of forks, you keep to the left and begin to gain height in a more decisive manner. After taking the Alta Via (Crocetta pass 927 m), we leave the dirt track, passing an aqueduct building after about 100 metres. The ascent among the beech trees is tiring, but even the crest of the mountain (1277 m), once reached, is not trivial and a little attention is required, because, before arriving, it is necessary to tackle a whole series of ups and downs, some a little tricky...... The main summit of Ramaceto is at 1345 m and is a few metres off the track (but a little anonymous). Just before the Ramaceto chapel, there is a clearing with some huge boulders where you can take your lunch break (tot. 2h30). Just as well, the destination (1318 m), less than ten minutes away, is with several bivouacking gatherings... We then descend to the Bocca di Feia (1131 m), continuing along the ridge to the Ventarola Nord pass (1004 m). Here we leave the Alta Via to turn right, practically ending up inside the bed of a stream. The fords are continuous and one proceeds slowly. At the end, the path becomes wide and returns to Ventarola (3h).
NB: In the event of an excursion, always check with FIE, Cai, any park authorities or other institutions, pro loco, etc., that there have been no changes that have increased the difficulties! No liability is accepted. This text is purely indicative and not exhaustive.
