Description

Path CAI 201 begins at the back of the Centro Fondo Pian di Casa 11245 ml. It climbs fairly rapidly first into the wood and then into the mugo thicket, to reach the ruins of the Casera Clap Piccolo cheese factory and then go round the large basin of the Rio Prà di Bosco, where some handrails guarantee greater safety. Climbing the last short ramp, we come in sight of the Rifugio Fratelli De Gasperi [1767 m] just below the small fork. The view from the Rifugio Fratelli De Gasperi contrasts the rugged towers and looming rocks with the gentle green of Carnia, which shows itself in all its splendour here. A stop at the arrival of the nearby cable car is recommended, from where there is a breathtaking panoramic view of the valleys below. The Refuge, a popular destination for the Pesarine Do-lites, is a valid support point for numerous itineraries, some of which are quite demanding, such as the route that, via the CAI 316-321-230-229 paths, leads to the village of Forni Avoltri.
